What to do if you want to play
- All communication concerning the TMacD Football Pool is through this web site.
- You must have an Email address.
- Create a Profile.
There's a web page off the
Main TMacD football pool web page
for creating a profile.
It's possible to try it out before creating a profile. Click on
[ Test Drive ]
to take a test drive.
After you have created a profile you will have a Handle
and a Password.
- After you create your profile, the administrators will
contact you to let you know your profile is active.
Once your profile is activated, you can make football picks.
The Email address in your profile is used to contact you.
If you do not hear back from the administrators in a
timely fashion,
[ Contact Us ]
.
- The handle and the password are the only two pieces of
information you need to access all parts of the
TMacD Football Pool.
- Use the [ LOG IN ] link off of the
Main TMacD football pool web page
to log into the football pool.
- Enter your Handle and Password to log in.
- Pick the appropriate week from the available drop down list
(usually the first one in the list).
- Go to that web page and fill out the form.
You can fill out several weeks in advance if you want to.
And, you can always change your picks anytime before the first game.
This can be useful if, for example, you are travelling
and do not have access to the web a particular week.
- Pick a winner for each game that week.
- Assign confidence points to each game.
If there are 16 games in a particular week, then uniquely
assign the numbers 1 to 16 to each of the games.
If you pick the winner of that game, you get those points.
The total score you receive that week is the sum total of
all confidence points for games where you correctly
picked the winner.
- If two teams end up with a tie score, 1/2 the points
(rounded up) are accumulated (e.g., 7 confidence points
would result in 4 accumulated points).
- In theory, you can change your picks at anytime until game
day, but picks are never allowed after 7pm on Fridays.
Remember, sometimes the first game is on Thursday or Saturday.
Most picks for Thursday games can be made until 7pm that Thursday,
but Thanksgiving is an exception (picks required by 7pm Wednesday).
- Pick the total points scored by both teams on Monday night.
This must be a number between 1 and 99. It is used to break
ties. The pick closest to the total points scored by both teams
breaks the tie and wins.
- If there is still a tie, the most points scored this season
determines the winner that week.
If all else fails there is a tie.
- Email is sent each week to each player showing their results
and their position compared to all other players.
- There is a year-end prize for the person scoring the
most points in a season. The lowest score for each
person is ignored when computing the year-end season total.
- Accumulation Procedure Tie breakers applied again:
- First Place: 70% of week's pot
- Second Place: 25% of week's pot
- Year-End Jackpot: 5% of each week's pot
- At the end of the season, the administrators will
contact everyone and let them know how well they did.
